Audible and Their Royalty Controversy

As I wait for ACX to approve Dirge of Titans’ audiobook approval (for auditions), Daniel Greene released a timely video on Audible’s recent platform updates. Needless to say, the writing community; reading community and empathetic-human-being community is up in arms over what amounts to “Netflix accessibility” of audiobooks, and penalizing less consumed authors, paying them less.

To raise more awareness of this issue, you can sign a petition, posted by Robin Sullivan, to have ACX/Audible steer course and amend a problematic (while hopefully well-intended) royalty model for its authors.

In other news, I’m chipping away at Chapter 20 of Garland of Stars, and tying together the last threads of the first act of the story. With any luck, I’ll reach the half-way mark in a couple of weeks.
